Grave Tending Service

Tending to graves and memorials is a deeply personal service and every grave, stone or memorial is different.

What is included with each visit?

Included with every visit to the grave –

General tidy of the site, including emptying any gone-over pots or vases and removing leaves, litter and debris. 

Trimming the grass around the grave or memorial and re-seeding if needed.

Prunning, deadheading and cutting back any existing plants as required.

A soap and water wash of the headstone, stone surround and/or memorial.

Making changes and/or redesigning

Sometimes we are asked to simply maintain a grave that has been put together by family and friends and we are very happy to do that, in that instance we would never make changes to the grave without express permission. We can also adapt, add to or completely redesign the planting of the plot.

Making it personal

With every grave we are happy to discuss ways to personalise your service. Every grave reflects a loved one with their own tastes and quirks and we are happy to incorporate their personality and character into the planting and overall design.

Wildflower, meadow planting

We are, at heart, gardeners and along with that comes a love of birds, bees and wildlife. Graveyards are an underused open space with the potential to help pollinators, insects and all manor of life forms with the introduction of native flower spieces and a soft approach to chemicals.

We have put together a collection of bulbs and wild flowers like snowdrops, crocus, poppies, cornflowers and of course, for-get-me-nots, that can provide year round beauty hand in hand with helping support our dwindling ecosystems. If this is an approach that interests you, please do get in touch.

Special Dates

One-off visits can be arranged for Birthdays, Anniversaries, Mothers day, Fathers day or over the festive season. A bouquet of flowers is included in the price for special visits.

Headstone Cleaning

Although a soap and water wash is included in every visit, we also offer a more comprehensive stone cleaning service.

The Forget-me-not..

This humble little flower has a rich history as a lasting symbol of love, longing and remembrance. Many myths and tales have arrisen as to why they are called forget-me-nots; of lovers swept away in streams and kings in exhile.
